Building homes, restoring hope

At Christian Housing Assistance Corporation, our guiding purpose is to serve individuals experiencing profound hardship by ensuring access to safe, suitable housing and shelter. This mission is deeply personal to us, as we recognize the dignity and worth of every individual we assist. Through the unwavering commitment of our volunteers—whose efforts are thoughtfully adapted to meet the unique circumstances of each person—we strive to offer compassionate, effective support where it is needed most. We believe that, together, we can restore hope and stability to those facing the greatest challenges.

Our inspiration: a brighter future for families

The inspiration behind Christian Housing Assistance Corporation came from a deep concern for families in our Waynesboro community who struggled to find safe and affordable housing. Witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by low-income households motivated us to act, believing that everyone deserves a home that meets basic standards of comfort and dignity. By providing stable housing, we aim to create a brighter future where families can thrive, children can grow in a nurturing environment, and individuals can pursue opportunities without the burden of inadequate shelter. Our goal is to foster hope, security, and lasting positive changes for every family we serve.

How is Christian Housing Supported?

Christian Housing has been sustained over the years through the generosity of donors and volunteers who share its vision. Support from individuals, churches, and civic organizations is essential to providing affordable housing and maintaining the quality of services offered. Both financial aid and donated labor play a crucial role in meeting the needs of the community.

Whenever possible, CHAC seeks material and labor donations before resorting to traditional purchases. This approach not only reduces costs but also fosters a sense of community involvement. Financial resources, when required, are responsibly managed to purchase necessary items and pay for services.

Importantly, for over more than five decades, CHAC has not received government funding, nor participate in organized fundraising networks. All donations made to the organization are tax deductible, providing an added incentive for contributors to support its mission.

The organization has reached a stage where hiring paid staff would significantly boost efficiency and expand its impact. However, all operations continue to be managed by dedicated volunteers, which sometimes limits the ability to scale services.

"For I know the plans I have for you, "says the Lord," plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

  Jeremiah 29:11

CHAC want to offer a hand up to families and are not here to offer a hand-out. CHAC want to work alongside our clients in helping provide for their needs. CHAC strive to offer love, respect and compassion to our neighbors as our God has shown to us. CHAC strive for the Holy Spirit to be working within and through us, helping the needs of others while serving the will of God. All of this is possible because of Him and is done through Him. All praise is GOD! CHAC is an imperfect group of individuals striving to live as we have been shown through Him.
